Each year the alumni chapter presents the Outstanding Alumni Award to a member of the NCC chapter at the Celebration of Distinction in April on George Mason University's Fairfax campus. Nominees should be selected based on outstanding contributions to their communities and have demonstrated excellence in one or more of the nine NCC competencies: Communication, Critical Thinking, Strategic Problem-Solving, Valuing, Group Interaction, Global Understanding, Effective Citizenship, Aesthetic Awareness, and Information Technology.
Nominations for the current year should be sent to the current chapter president by February 1st.
Nominees are currently reviewed and selected by the chapter officers. Chapter officers are not eligible to receive the award while carrying out their terms.
