Section Information for Fall 2013

This course will examine how the leading spiritual traditions - Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism - as well as Paganism/Wiccan, Native American spirituality, and yoga, approach conservation and sustainability. Students will also practice yoga and meditation to engage with the material experientially. The goal is not only for you to gain an overview of how these religious and spiritual traditions approach nature, but also to examine how your own spirituality informs your relationship with nature and guides your actions; and to learn how to use these different approaches to promote conservation and sustainability in your own community and the wider world most effectively.
