This class looks at a variety of health and health care issues.  We will examine several of the contemporary major health concerns and explore the biology and medical implications of these diseases and how our society deals with potential life-­‐altering information.  We will also explore who is making the decisions on the allocation of research funds and prevention of disease.

Recognizing the value and contribution of science to improving the human condition, this course provides students the opportunity to apply integrative learning approaches to explore the intersections between science, health, and society with a focus on diverse societies and the implications for social justice. Limited to three attempts.
