Section Information for Fall 2013
A growing body of research literature points to the efficacy of mindfulness and meditation for mental and physical health. In this course we will examine theories and traditions of meditation and the scientific evidence for its value. In addition, we will explore other frontiers of the mind and consciousness including the placebo effect, imagery and visualization for performance enhancement, hypnosis, psychotropic states of consciousness, and intuitive-based decision-making. We will also explore the mind-body connection with direct experiences of physical movement and its impact on our state of consciousness.View 6 Other Sections of this Course in this Semester »
