Cecilia "Lia" Uy-Tioco
Cecilia “Lia” Uy-Tioco is an Academic Advisor and Instructor at New Century College and is working on a PhD in Cultural Studies at George Mason University. Her research interests include media studies, new media technologies, globalization, and contemporary migration. Prior to pursuing a career in the academe, Lia held various positions in the publishing industry. In the Philippines, she was Managing Editor of Metro Working Mom magazine and Assistant Director of the Ateneo de Manila University Press. In New York City, she worked at BasicBooks/HarperCollins and The New Press.
