Information for Prospective Students

The School of Integrative Studies degrees allow students to transcend disciplinary boundaries and combine their interests to create a single degree characterized by:

  • Personalized approaches to teaching and learning.
  • The integration of discovery, theory and practice to develop solutions to contemporary problems.
  • Active learning that connects the classroom and community.
  • Competency-building in areas such as critical thinking, group collaboration and civic engagement.

SIS areas of focus include pre-professional studies (education, law, and life sciences), social justice, conservation studies, organizational administration, international studies, and child and family studies. Students may also work with an academic advisor to design an individualized concentration customized to their unique academic and career goals. In the following videos, students share their thoughts about their SIS experience.
