Living and Learning Hall

First-Year New Century College students can participate in a Living and Learning Community where they are assigned to the same floor of a residence hall. Dickenson Hall is located in the “Commons” which is in the in the heart of campus life, and close to academic buildings and Student Union Buildings. We have found that students are more successful when their academic experiences are integrated in their home life. Living and Learning students develop communication and leadership skills and encourage their appreciation for lifelong learning.
Students in this living environment will create their community through collaborative learning and support from peers and faculty. Programs, such as colloquia and a group discussion series related to course work, will be offered to accompany the academic focus of this floor.
What can you expect?
- Enhanced educational experience through your first-year experience
- Friendships and communities developed by common interests
Please note: It does not cost anything extra to participate in a living/learning community.
